Profile

Russell graduated from Hull University in 1992 with a degree in American Studies, having studied at The University of California, San Diego for a year. He previously worked at the Refugee Legal Centre in London, assisting refugees in their asylum applications and appeals. He then completed an MSc in Information Systems and Technology at City University.

Following a number of years working in the technology industry, part of which was spent on secondment in Oslo, Norway, Russell began studying the PgDL part-time at The College of Law in London and progressed to complete the LPC at The College of Law in York in 2004. In November 2004, he joined the Criminal Department at Fisher Meredith as a paralegal from a criminal defence firm in Vauxhall. He qualified as a solicitor in January 2007 and transferred to us in April 2008.

Since joining us, Russell has focused on Magistrates’ Court matters throughout courts in South London assisting in the management of a team of advocates. He is a qualified Duty Solicitor and Accredited Police Station Representative. His practice is extremely diverse, covering the complete range of criminal offences.

Russell is aiming to gain Higher Courts Advocacy rights to enable him to represent in cases in the Crown Court.
