Richard was made a partner at the firm in July 2004. Admitted in 1990, he has been dealing with defending our clients against the most serious criminal allegations for over a decade.

As supervisor of our Special Casework Department, he is responsible for the overall preparation and organisation of some of our largest and most complex prosecutions. His experience and expertise covers a broad range of work, including fraud, white collar crime extradition, terrorism allegations, large scale conspiracies, and sports regulatory work.

Richard's work in successfully defending the man accused of training the pilots responsible for 9/11 against extradition to the United States resulted in him winning the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year.

He has also won plaudits for his successful defence of the first ever corporate racism charge against a championship football club and in defending high profile individuals in the media spot light. Richard is currently representing clients accused of an international boiler room fraud, conspiracies to fraudulently sell the Ritz Hotel London and conspiracies to destroy transatlantic aircraft. He is also advising an executive in relation to the SFO investigation into allegations of fraudulent dealings by BAE in their international arms contracts.

Richard's success in defending high profile defendants has been profiled in The Times newspaper, and he has regularly appeared as a legal expert on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 news programmes
