Lawrence joined the firm in 2006, having spent several years defending personal injury claims. He now specialises in actions against the police and has a particular interest in police complaints, including bringing a number of Judicial Reviews against the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC), and also against the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Lawrence also represents clients in their civil claims for damages including for assault/ battery, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, discrimination, and for claims under the Human Rights Act 1998.

He has been involved in a number of submissions made on behalf of the Police Action Lawyers Group (PALG) in relation to police complaints, and was consulted by the National Audit Office (NAO) during their review of the IPCC. He most recently provided submissions to the Home Affairs Committee, again on the subject of the IPCC.

Lawrence is a member of the Police Actions Lawyers Group (PALG) and Inquest Lawyers Group (ILG).
