Julian has specialised in criminal defence work since admission in 1998. In 2004 he was promoted to partner at leading human rights firm Christian Khan Solicitors in recognition of his rising profile in the context of serious criminal work. He joined the Tuckers Special Casework Team as a consultant in 2008.
Julian has represented high profile defendants charged with terrorism, importation, fraud and murder offences. He continues to represent defendants in relation to a wide range of criminal work from terrorist cases, homicide, serious fraud and drugs to general crime and regulatory work. He has particular expertise in representing clients in complex crimes involving multiple forensic issues.
He is a member of the local police station and court duty solicitor schemes. He is also a member of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors Association, Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association, Liberty and Justice. Julian provides lectures on criminal law to students on the Criminal Litigation LLM degree at South Bank University. He has appeared on Legal Network Television training videos advising on changes to criminal legislation. He has given evidence to the Eminent Jurist Panel on Terrorism, Counter Terrorism and Human Rights. In addition to this he has contributed and advised towards television programmes on general crime and terrorism for the BBC, ITV and Islam Channels.
