John was called to the Bar in 1992 before re-qualifying as a Solicitor in 1995, and has worked for Tuckers since. He became a Duty Solicitor in 1997, whilst still undertaking his own Duty Solicitor work. In his early career at Tuckers John spent most of his time advocating in the Magistrates Court and has conducted several hundred Summary Trials. He has also held supervisory roles within the firm and is currently a Team Leader within our Crown Court Team. In 2002 John obtained his "Higher-Rights" which enable him to practice as an Advocate in the Crown Court. This is where he has primarily worked since, taking on a wide variety of work and in particular being Trial Advocate in several dozens of trials. John remains rightly proud to be a Duty Solicitor and intends to carry on discharging the duties that come with that role, both in the Magistrates Court and the Police Station, and looks forward in the future to dealing primarily with cases as an Advocate with cases in the Crown Court.
