Hind joined our South London Magistrates’ Court Team in 2008, and is involved in both preparation and advocacy. Hind also works alongside the Serious Casework Team with Control Orders, (imposed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005). Hind attained a Bachelors degree in Pharmacology and a Masters degree in Neuroscience from the University of London. Thereafter, Hind worked as a researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, where she studied the impact of aetiology and ethnicity on schizophrenia and other psychosis. This experience prompted Hind to work as a social policy coordinator with the Sudanese Children in Need, where she was engaged in projects aimed at meeting the immigration, housing and social needs of refugees. Undertaking such work provoked a keen interest in the law as it made her acutely aware of the need to safeguard rights, to improve accessibility to publicly-funded services and the importance of delivering a quality service to marginalised communities. Hind completed her legal studies between 2004/5 at the College of Law, London. She undertook her training with Fisher Meredith between 2006/8, gaining experience in Immigration, Police/Prison Law and Crime.
