Inquest Into the Death of Ian Tomlinson Begins

The inquest in to the death of Ian Tomlinson began today, very nearly two years after he died on 1 April 2009 at the G20 protests in London.

Tuckers Sue Police for Wrongful Imprisonment of Solicitors

"Three solicitors were today suing police for wrongful imprisonment after falling foul of strict prison regulations."

Tuckers are representing three solicitors who were arrested at Brixton Prison following a mix-up over which lockers to use for their personal possessions.

Secret files show UK courts were misled over 9/11 suspect Lotfi Raissi

The Guardian Newspaper has again reported on the case of Lotfi Raissi, the first person arrested after the 9/11 attacks. The report describes how previously unseen documents prove that British prosecutors failed to disclose crucial evidence to the courts, resulting in Mr Raissi's detention for five months.

Lotfi Raissi is being represented by Jules Carey of Tuckers, who is quoted as saying,

The court of appeal pulled no punches in asserting that there was a considerable body of evidence to suggest that the Met and CPS were responsible for serious defaults that resulted in Raissi's detention at Belmarsh.

These documents demonstrate, unequivocally, that the blame lies with the British authorities. He has waited seven years for an apology and watched four home secretaries come and go without receiving it. He is hopeful that his wait is finally up.
