Extradition to Lithuania for 2 attempted murders

1 April 2003

Our client was Lithuanian teenager who fought that government’s request for his return so that he could be tried in relation to two allegations of attempted murder. We appealed to the Divisional Court in relation to the magistrates’ decision to commit our client for extradition, arguing that there had been undue delay by Lithuania in making the request. The court found that in the instant case there had not been any such delay, but they accepted our argument that the issue was “proportionate to the applicant’s age.”
