Franklin Sinclair, our senior partner, appeared on a Channel 4's Dispatches documentary on December 17th 2003. He commented on the problems caused by the lack of consistency amongst judges when sentencing cases. Two of the most successfully appealed judges sat at Manchester Crown Court and the programme focussed on the lack of accountability in the present system. Franklin believes there should be a transparent system of appraisal for all judges to ensure continuity in decision making. Justice should not be a lottery.
